European Multicultural Foundation
Background
European Multicultural Foundation was established with the assistance
of the Australian Multicultural Foundation to ensure the long-term
success of the European Unions' 1997 Year Against Racism and Xenophobia
and aims to promote cultural diversity and a positive attitude towards
multiculturalism through sectors and segments of society.
In doing so, the Foundation adheres to the original underlying aims
of the European Union; namely to develop Europe as a Civil Society
in which each person can live freely, securely and confidently in
his or her own identity.
The European Multicultural Foundation is supported by UNESCO, United
Nations (UK), Commission for Racial Equality and the Royal Commonwealth
Society.
